Each year, NRC works with CURC to built a mini-program designed especially for college and university recycling professionals within our full conference agenda. Recyclemania: The Premier College Campus Waste Reduction Competition
Recyclemania is a national competition that currently involves over a million college students from 93 schools in 34 states. Join representatives from the Recyclemania Steering Committee to talk about participating, meeting challenges, and sharing successes. Participate in providing feedback on your campus involvement in Recyclemania. Learn how to get involved in this exciting competition and how to master contest reporting and material tracking. We'll wrap up this session with the 2006 Recyclemania Awards Ceremony.

Recyclemania at Colleges and Universities
Presented by NRC’s College and University Recycling Council

Colleges generate a variety of waste streams from industrial to residential. This session highlights an innovative inter- and intra-collegiate recycling competition with students who live in on-campus residence halls and apartments. This competition has been growing in the past four years while recovering hundreds of thousands of pounds of materials. It also serves as an opportunity to educate tens of thousands of college students to reduce their waste for the long haul. This creative competition can be used in a variety of applications to reach diverse groups of people and organizations.
